Sobran – Boğazınkaya

Location: It is located to the east of Nallıhan District, 7 km away from the town center. The trail can be accessed from within the town center. Sobran Village is situated to the east of Nallıhan, on the eastern side of Çatalçam Tepe and Karabayır Tepe. The starting point of the trail is at the northern end of the village.

General Features: The trail passes through forests and forest clearings. There are climbs and descents along the hike. Geological formations and rich wildlife can be observed. There is a waterfall at Boğazınkaya. The hike forms a counterclockwise loop and ends at the starting point.

Vegetation: Mostly forested area. Trees: Black Pine (Pinus nigra), Juniper species (Juniperus oxycedrus, J. foetidissima, J. excelsa), Oak (Quercus pubescens), Wild Pear (Pyrus elaeagnifolia). Shrubs and Herbaceous Plants: Berberis, Cotoneaster, Hawthorn (Crataegus), Dog Rose (Rosa canina), Astragalus, Globe Daisy (Globularia), Ramoculus, Thyme (Thymus), Wild Mint (Mentha), Forget-me-not (Myosotis), Horsetail (Equisetum), Orchid (Orchis).

Animals: Mammals: European Hare (Lepus europaeus), Fox (Vulpes vulpes), Blind Mole Rat (Spalax leucodon), Wild Boar (Sus scrofa), Anatolian Squirrel (Sciurus anomalus), Hedgehog (Erinaceus concolor). Reptiles: Snake-Eyed Lizard (Ophisops elegans), Montpellier Snake (Coluber (Dolichopis) jugularis). Birds: Coal Tit (Parus ater), Blue Tit (Parus caeruleus), Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius), Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopus major). Insects: Especially species from the Lepidoptera order, Pieridae family.
