Bozarmut Plateau – Aksu Village

Location: The trail is located just west of Nallıhan. The distance from the town center to the starting point of the trail is 7 km from Aşağı Bağlıca Village and 6 km from Yukarı Bağlıca Village. After traveling approximately 3.5 km on the provincial road from Nallıhan to Sarıcakaya (Eskişehir), the trail is accessed by taking the roads leading to Aşağı Bağlıca and Yukarı Bağlıca villages.

General Features: There are two alternative starting points for the trail. In the first alternative, the route starts just outside Yukarı Bağlıca Village and follows the forest road. In the other alternative, the route starts from Aşağı Bağlıca Village and follows the forest and interior forest road. Along the trail, small historical settlements and corresponding necropolis areas can be seen. These are estimated to belong to the Byzantine period.

Suitable Season: Spring, summer, autumn. In winter, only professional teams can hike.

Trees: Black Pine (Pinus nigra), Oak species (Quercus pubescens, Q. robur, Q. petraea, Q. infectoria, Q. cerris), Juniper species (Juniperus oxycedrus, J. foetidissima, J. excelsa), Hazel (Corylus), Lime (Tilia), Pear (Pyrus elaeagnifolia), Black Poplar (Populus nigra), White Willow (Salix alba), Aspen (Populus tremula), Service Tree (Sorbus torminalis), Wild Apple (Malus), Wild Plum (Prunus). Shrubs and Herbaceous Plants: Peony (Paeonia peregrina), Cotoneaster, Firethorn (Pyracantha), Hawthorn (Crataegus), Bladder Senna (Colutea), Snowball (Viburnum), Elderberry (Sambucus), Stork’s Bill (Erodium), Geranium, St. John’s Wort (Hypericum), Mistletoe (Viscum), Sage (Salvia), Skullcap (Scutellaria), Birthwort (Aristolochia).

Animals: Mammals: Bear (Ursus arctos), Jackal (Canis aureus), Wolf (Canis lupus), Red Deer (Cervus elaphus), Wild Boar (Sus scrofa).
